Due to all the craziness going on in the country, Dondre and I decided to postpone our wedding to January 10th, 2021. Please cancel all flights/reservations that you all have made for April. (If you have reservations through the Islander, please cancel via their reservations line). I have reset all RSVP's so please redo them if you know you are coming. I will continue to update this page as information comes. As of now, everything is the same except the date and time. Thank you all for understanding. -Devan

The first time we met was in our 6th grade reading class. We sat on opposite ends of the classroom and never spoke to each other. One day after school, we were officially introduced through a mutual friend who lived nearby and we became great friends ever since. Fast forward to January 2013, he and some friends drove up to Gainesville to visit over MLK weekend. Since that weekend, we started texting each other more frequently. We then, both came clean about having feelings for each other over the years. The rest is history.

We spent most of the day at Clearwater Beach for Memorial Day weekend. Afterwards, we decided to go for a walk at a nearby park. As we were walking, he suddenly stopped. I asked him "why are we stopping" and he took my hand and replied "let's just stop and enjoy this moment". I thought he was acting strange but didn't think much of it. Before I knew it, he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him. In total shock, I nodded my head "yes." We walked home hand-in-hand and once the shock passed, I said to him "about time."
