Megan Dailey

Maid of Honor

Destiny was with David’s Tent for about 3 months when Megan moved in. As they unloaded Megan's car together over small talk, they quickly realized a shared connection: both hailing from the west coast beaches of Florida, they found out they had grown up in the same church and that their parents were old friends! It was a sweet discovery that blossomed into an even sweeter friendship. At David's Tent, Megan and Destiny took the night watch, which led to shared times of deep prayer, wild 3AM on the National Mall stories, early morning breakfast runs, hammock naps, and sunrise swims in the pool, to name a few. Megan loves so well, and whether it’s through her perfect hugs, her intentionality, the way she listens and prays, or simply putting on the right song at the right time and laying on the floor with you (it really is a gifting!) she makes sure you know you are loved by her. Megan is the most wonderful of friends.

Joshua Lim

Best Man

Joshua and Justin are long-time roommates. They most often spend time together over board games, bible studies, ultimate frisbee, cooking dinner, and late nights (sometimes early mornings!) talking theology. Together they've survived an epic interstate bike trip, camping in sub-freezing temperatures, summiting a mountain overnight in a hurricane, and DC politics. Joshua is a bona fide biblical friend replete with sage counsel and a penchant for the paronomastic. He is a man of great character and integrity. Joshua, Justin, and Destiny usually sit together at Capitol Hill Baptist Church.

Alexis Link

Bridesmaid

Destiny met Alexis when she first moved to Washington D.C. She and Destiny became fast friends, bonding over rollerblading and boba dates, silent discos in their room, and (long) trips to the thrift store. They have had many spontaneous adventures, sweet times worshiping and playing piano together at David’s Tent, and late night conversations meditating on the goodness of God. Alexis is a wonderful woman of God and a true friend, full of wisdom and unconditional love. She is bold in prayer and quick to comfort, knowing exactly when you need an honest exhortation, a soft word, or the best homemade meal you’ve ever had. A friend turned sister, Destiny is so grateful to have Alexis beside her on this special day.

Noah Montgomery

Groomsman

Noah and Justin have been roommates in DC for over 5 years. On a typical Friday night they might attend ad hoc reception events in search of free food, walk or bike to an unexplored DC neighborhood (they once biked 100 miles in one day), camp on the C&O Canal, or host a movie night on their back porch. Irrespective of activity, thoughtful and insightful conversation always accompanies. Noah is especially faithful in prayer, both in public and in private - ask him to pray for you and he will right there, on the spot! It was Noah who invited Justin to Friday night worship at David's Tent, where he would later meet his future wife, Destiny.

Lydia Hazen

Bridesmaid

Meeting in highschool, both Lydia and Destiny somehow shared the unspoken assumption that neither liked each other. Thankfully that assumption had no basis and, once cleared up, gave way to a wonderful and effortless friendship. They are kindred spirits who enjoy everything, as long as they are doing it together. This is reflected in their diverse resume of time spent together, which boasts fashion shows, baking, concerts, (many) iced coffee runs, sitting in comfortable silence, exploring their hometown, video games, hallmark movie nights, beach days, and afternoon naps. Full of gentle wisdom, Lydia is generous, encouraging, and thoughtful. She has the ability to see God’s hand in any situation and remain hopeful and steadfast. A restful presence, Lydia is a friend that feels like home.

Timi Onafowokan

Groomsman

Timi and Justin met playing soccer (football to Timi!) on the National Mall in the early days of COVID. They quickly became friends and soon after decided to become roommates. Timi is contagiously joyful and a frequent encourager. Timi and Justin's friendship is characterized by theology discussions, bike rides, late night grocery store trips, and trying to motivate one another to undertake whatever impromptu personal challenges the other can think of (like a 40-day challenge to avoid buying food). In brief, Timi exemplifies joy, humility, self-discipline, and camaraderie; he is a former member of Capitol Hill Baptist Church and current member of a sister church in NYC.

Gloriahna Babler

Bridesmaid

Glori and Destiny met each other when they were about 10 years old and were cast in their church’s Christmas play, tasked with the simple role of walking across the stage one time together. Unfortunately for the director, they became the best of friends and missed their cue many times while playing 20 questions backstage. Fourteen years since, they now have many cherished memories together: driving 45 minutes to each other’s house just to sit in the car and share new songs with each other, road tripping to Georgia to see their favorite folk artist in concert, weekend family trips to Daytona Beach spent boogie boarding (literally the entire time), hiking in the beautiful Minnesota spring time, and so many more. Bold, considerate, and a friend to all, Glori has a deep joy and love for life that is so contagious. She is a steady, kind, and refreshing presence, not only in Destiny’s life, but in the lives of everyone she meets.

Dan Chalifa

Groomsman

Dan is one of Justin's oldest friends, having known one another since the 7th grade. From humble beginnings on swim team and marching band, the two later worked together as lifeguards, and regularly went on ski and kayak camping trips with friends. They still find time each winter to ski together. An abridged list of practical skills Dan has attempted to teach Justin unsuccessfully over the years might include: how to read music, how to be generally proficient with common everyday technologies, how to accurately predict the economic viability of niche cryptocurrencies, fluency in the Spanish language, etc. Undoubtedly, Dan is a steadfast, faithful, and honest friend.

Bobby Jamieson

Officiant

Bobby is a pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church.
