We're Getting Married!

Destiny's long time friend Aaron Crump who met Demetrius 'Meech' later as pre-med students told him that he should consider reaching out to Destiny as a potential woman to date. Demetrius was unfortunately in a relationship at that time, BUT after that dissolved, he asked Destiny's friend, Medjie, what she thought about him pursuing her. She said something like "Oh yeah, she's really nice" and so he did. Destiny was working as medical research producer on a talk show in Manhattan, while Meech was in the Post-bacc program at Wayne State School of Medicine, when they started talking. Meech found her on twitter and started asking her about what she was doing in New York. He eventually asked for her number to finish the conversation. They face timed and talked quite a bit, almost daily. He told her that he thought she was really cute and they found out instantly that they had a lot of interests and future goals in common. Things like ambitious career goals in and outside medicine, outer space, traveling, hiking, leading active lives, exploring different foods, their devotion to their faith, giving back, family goals and how they envision raising children. When Destiny arrived back in Detroit in 2022, they went on their first date to an Afro-Carribean restaurant (their favorite cuisine) called The Yum Village on Woodward. He thought she was shy and nerdy and Destiny thought he was really handsome and nosy. She also peeped that he loves the kiddos as he was playing Peek-a-boo with this cute baby at the restaurant. Lol That summer, they went on many dates to the park, movies and various restaurants around the city for stimulating conversations. On October 14th 2022, on the day of Destiny's friend's wedding (shout out to Brittany Moore- her matron of honor), he asked her to be his girlfriend- she gladly accepted and thought to herself, what took him soo long :) On her absolute favorite Holiday of all times- Christmas Day, Demetrius asked Destiny to be his wife in front of her mom! It was easily one of the best days of her life alongside finding out she matched at her #1 residency program. He was sooo nervous, but Destiny thought his nervousness was super cute. Destiny thought the ring was the most beautiful ring she has ever laid her eyes on! She never takes it off :) She was completely off guard as she was genuinely anticipating a watch after he told her, "I got you" when she asked for it. The watch came a year later. They both very much love, respect and adore one another and most of all excited to be wedded on September 12th 2026 as apart of an intimate celebration of their forever future together as Mr. & Mrs. Moncrease.
