We met at an outdoor concert festival in Nashville called Live on The Green. James was meeting Rachel's best friend Abby that he was new friends with. The funny part is, Abby showed Rachel James' photo before he got there, and Rachel said "OMG, he is tan and dark headed, my favorite!" Abby told Rachel to behave. During the show Rachel didn't talk to James until the group of girls wanted a group photo. Rachel asked James to please hold her purse while she got in the photo. He accepted and grabbed her purse, Rachel leaned over and told him he was a "sexy coat hanger", and that was the best pick up line James ever heard, and the rest is history. Two sweet goofball's fell in love with their love of music, the outdoors, laughter and stupid jokes. <3<3<3
11.20.2018 Over the years James had many ideas for how he'd propose but none of them worked out as planned. He told Rachel he was going to take her to dinner in Downtown Nashville. They always love walking across the bridge together. Little did she know he would be proposing on their walk across the pedestrian bridge that night. The bridge is lit up with different colors leading you over the Cumberland River giving you the perfect view of the Nashville cityscape as you walk across. He had invited a few of their best friends, who were naturally running late. But, James couldn't wait. He stopped in the middle of the freezing cold and told her, "I can't wait one more minute, I've waited long enough......." No one else was around, it was as if time had stopped for them and it was absolutely magical to be alone on a beautiful wintery night with all the lights in the middle of Downtown Nashville. (The friends eventually showed up, and they all celebrated after)
