Travel

Flight

Málaga–Costa del Sol Airport (AGP)

This is the easiest option for most guests. AGP has the widest range of international and domestic flights and is about 55 minutes from Estepona. If you aren’t renting a car, the Avanza Bus runs frequent shuttles between the airport and Estepona. For those renting cars, the airport has on-site counters for Sixt, Avis, Budget, Hertz, Thrifty, RecordGo, GoldCar, OkMobility, and Europcar. We’ve found RecordGo to be the most budget-friendly.

Flight

Gibraltar International Airport (GIB)

Gibraltar is a smaller airport, but it’s another convenient option. It’s about a 40–45 minute drive to Estepona, depending on border traffic. Since Gibraltar is a UK territory, you’ll go through customs when crossing into Spain, which can add a little time. Most guests prefer AGP for ease, but GIB works well if you find a good flight deal or a more convenient time.

Hotel

Hotel El Pilar Andalucia

12 Plaza de las Flores, Estepona, AN 29280, Spain

A boutique hotel in the center of Estepona’s charming Old Town. It’s surrounded by beautiful streets, cafés, and restaurants. Because it’s located in a pedestrian-only zone, guests may need to walk a short distance (about 1 block) for transportation or drop-off. We will be staying here!

Hotel

Hotel Estepona Plaza

8 Plaza Ortiz, Estepona, AN 29680, Spain

Another lovely, modern option in the Old Town. Close to shops, restaurants, and the beach, and an easy walk to most points of interest.
