10 Years ago, Max and Desiree met boarding a plane on their way to perform over seas in Macau, China. She remembers thinking he was cute. They spent the first few months exploring Asia, enjoying each other's company in what is best described as typical "Showmance" style. But what was inevitably just a "China Thing" meant the eventual separating of ways. Max and Desiree shook hands in the most undramatic of ways (you can ask anyone) and gave each other their blessing for the happiest of lives . After YEARS of longing for each other ---- Ooookay, Max. This isn't entirely accurate. I'm taking over from here ;). Desiree made her way out west to pursue a life in film/tv while Max continued to travel the world performing. They didn't speak, see, or "long" for each other much at all, actually. Until one day in April, 2017 when Desiree was visiting NYC and learned Max was living just blocks from where she was staying. On an impulse, Desiree reached out to him via FB and asked if he would be up for a coffee and a catch up. They sat awkwardly across from each other for the first time since they parted ways in China, 10 years before. He smiled and she thought, "Yup, still cute." What started off as coffee turned into drinks, which turned into seeing a show a few days later, which turned into more drinks, which turned into late night texts from across the country, which turned into a whirlwind summer in NY. Desiree took the leap and decided to relocate to NY for good in the fall of 2017. And now, here they are, enjoying this unexpected second chance so much that Max decided to put a ring on it! Because what was once a "China Thing" and then a "Summer Thing", has undeniably evolved into a "Life Thing".
