Where is the Wedding being held?

Answer

Our home base for most of the weekend will be Crook Point Mervue Home. This is where we will get ready in the morning and have the reception after the ceremony. Our formal ceremony will be at Capella by the Sea, and we will take photos in the surrounding areas before the ceremony.

What will the day look like?

Answer

We are planning to get ready in the morning and have brunch with our respective parties. Then Desiree and Hannah will do a private first look at the lookout property, followed by group pictures and individual portraits. We will make our way to Capella by the Sea for the wedding ceremony, which will take place at 5:00 p.m., and then go back to the Mervue property for dinner, speeches, and drinks. Crook Point, oceanfront lodging and destination event venues are located in the Pistol River community, midway between Gold Beach and Brookings, Oregon.

Where are the nearest towns?

Brookings and Gold Beach are the nearest towns. Brookings is 14 miles south of Crook Point, and Gold Beach is 13 miles to the north.

What are the nearest airports?

Crescent City (50 mins) - Advanced Airlines flies direct from Oakland, CA and Hawthorne, CA (use code CROOKPOINT20FLIGHTS for 20% your flight) North Bend (2 hours) Medford (3 hours) Arcata/Eureka (2 ½ hours) Portland (5 1/2 hours) San Francisco (7 hours) We highly recommend flying into Crescent City, CA (45-50) min drive) and you can take a quick non-stop from Hawthorne, CA, on Advanced Airlines. Besides that location, most guests fly into Medford, OR (3 hours, one way) to get to Crook Point. If Medford doesn't work and you have some extra time on either side of the wedding, fly to Portland (usually 6 hours, one way) or San Francisco (7-8 hours, one way) and enjoy the drive up or down the coast. From SFO, you take HWY 101 the entire way, and 101 cuts through our family property. Coming from Portland, you could take the long way over (an extra hour drive to Tillamook (yes- that is where the cheese is made) and then down HWY 101 the entire coastline. The fastest route from Portland is down I5 to HWY 38 (Drain), which takes you down the Umpqua River to the coast at Reedsport. From there, take HWY 101 to Crook Point. Is there Lodging available on the property?

Yes, we currently have a hold on two houses on the property, one for the dates of Oct. 22–Oct. 25 and the other for the dates of Oct. 23rd - Oct. 25th. * Byrdies House (sleeps up to 10) will cost $2,179.83 for the weekend. * Honeymoon House (sleeps up to 5) will cost $1,800.73. Unfortunately, these are the only two properties available on the property for those dates and will be first come, first served. However, if you do not see a size or price that works for you, you are more than welcome to book one of the amazing surrounding Airbnbs or rental homes in the area. We have added some potential places both in Gold Beach and Brookings. You can find these listed in the travel section. Just be sure to mention you are with the Bain-Smith wedding party, as we have these reserved just for you!
