a decade of love, the prologue to forever

In the fall of 2014, two worlds collided at UC Irvine's DragonBoat recruitment event. From the start, their connection was undeniable, instantly hitting it off and becoming fast friends. Amidst the laughter and shared moments, they both recognized the rareness of what they had found.  What they didn't anticipate was that their friendship would pave the way for something more, a surprise to pretty much only them (but definitely not their friends lol). Despite their seemingly different paths, they chose to embrace the unknown, knowing that what they had was worth the leap. A decade later, their bond has grown even stronger with the turning of each year, unfolding new chapters in their shared adventure.

In a comical turn of events, after less than a year of being together, Jose mustered up the courage to ask Destiny about her thoughts on marriage. Little did he know that her mind was preoccupied with the weighty decision of switching majors at the tender age of 19. Undeterred, Jose remained steadfast in his belief that they were destined to be together, patiently waiting for the right time. As their love continued to flourish and years passed, Destiny jokingly mentioned that she wouldn't entertain the idea of marriage until she was off her parents' insurance. Jose, being the devoted partner he is, diligently marked the calendar as Destiny's 26th birthday approached. Over the span of the next year with a plan in mind, Jose enlisted the help of Destiny's closest friends to orchestrate a surprise proposal. On a thoughtfully planned weekend getaway in Malibu, as they walked the beach at sunset, Destiny found herself completely caught off guard when Jose dropped to one knee and asked the question that had been in his heart all along. In a moment filled with laughter and utter shock, Destiny said yes, realizing that her partner's unwavering belief in their love was the greatest gift of all. They celebrated their new chapter with a picnic, basking in the warmth of their friends and family, and toasting to a future filled with love and endless adventures.
