Now this is the story all about how, My life got flipped-turned upside down, And I'd like to take a minute, just sit right there, I'll tell you about the couple with the big tall hair
Steph and Matt met back in 2011. They were in the same World Affairs class. Even though the entire school had known each other for more than seven years due to the closeness of the graduating class, Matt and Steph never met. Matt knew all her friends. She knew all his. Yet they never spoke to each other ever. One day in the hall between classes (Matt’s favorite spot to be), Matt was talking to Steph’s current “boyfriend” (if you can even call them that then). As Steph walked up, said hi, and walked away, Matt turned to the young chap and proclaimed a prognostication for prophets and clairvoyants alike: “Ima steal yo girl.” Little did the world know, within Matt’s thoughts, there was another prediction: “I’m going to marry her.” Lo and behold, Matt asked Steph to the “Halloween Formal,” where they were dressed as Pirates (part of the ship, part of the crew)! After that, they had their (second) first date at Pete and Elda’s in Neptune, where they both ordered the XXL pie, and Steph won the contest and Matt’s heart (and a free t-shirt). From then on, as the years went by, with all of life’s speed bumps, they are now having the Long Expected Party: a WEDDING! Back to the first person! Why Maine, you ask? Our friends Angel and Jim (they are in the wedding party of course) were the cause of this! Jim asked us if we could drive a dog 10 hours from NJ to ME and hike a mountain at 5 AM (Steph without coffee and Matt with his hypertrophic cardiomyopathy). Meet a photographer, prepare the dog basket and camera, and capture one of the most beautiful proposals we ever did see. Of course, we said "yes." The four of us spent the weekend in Bar Harbor and Acadia Park, and our love for Maine grew. We hope our guests have the same experience at this wedding, and we cannot wait to celebrate in Vacationland!
