No, if you are a citizen of the United State of America you do not need a passport to travel to the US Virgin Islands.
Although we'd love if everyone could stay in the same area as us, we understand there are a lot of amazing options to choose from on the island. The bride and groom are staying on Sapphire Beach. There are several condo buildings available for rent located right on the beach, Crystal Cove and Sapphire Village Condos. You can book these condos directly through Airbnb and VRBO list for the best deals. Please, see the travel page for more information about accommodation recommendations and how to book.
All of the US islands take the US dollar. St.Thomas, St.Croix, & St.John. You will NOT need to exchange any of your money unless visiting one of the British islands and most places accept all major credit cards. Please make sure to bring cash for taxi services.
Stay as long as you like! The bride and groom will be staying from June 12th-18th. We only ask that you be there on Saturday, June 15th for. our wedding. Optional wedding activities are planned for June 14th & 16th. See the schedule page for more details.
The average high in June is 88 degrees Fahrenheit and the average low is 79 degrees Fahrenheit. There is generally minimal precipitation, just quick showers.
Yes. Verizon and AT&T both include the US Virgin Islands on their plans. Please check with your cell phone provider to be sure.
If you are staying long enough, we highly recommend visiting St. John. You can catch a 15 minute ferry to Cruz Bay, the only town on St.John, at the Urmar Victor Fredricks Marine Terminal in Red Hook. There are ferries to and from St.John every hour until 11 PM. The cost round trip is $18 per person. There is a parking garage located at the marina for $10 a day, if you choose to rent a car.
Ask yourself, are you an explorer or beach bum? If you're an explorer, we recommend car rental, if you're a beach bum, we recommend using the shuttle and taxi services. There are many ways to get around the island. 1. There is a $1 shuttle that runs the loop of St. Thomas and stops at every beach along the way. We have not used this yet. 2. Taxis are frequent and you can catch them easily on the main roads -- they typically charge $6 per person into Red Hook and run all day and late into the night. A taxi to Magen's Bay Beach is about $20 per person. (CASH ONLY) This is our favorite way to travel. You do not need a car, but if you'd like to rent one, there are several rental services located at St.Thomas Airport (STT). We recommend renting ahead of time and using Hotwire.com to find the best deal on car rentals.** Travel note: Similar to England, cars drive on the left side of the road in USVI. For more details see the travel page.
The USVI recently banned the use and sale of sunscreens that contain chemicals harmful to coral. Oxybenzone, Octinoxate and Octocrylene are chemicals that result in bleaching of coral. They are poisonous to coral ecosystems. Mineral based sunscreens that contain either zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are the only products that may be used in the USVI. It is important to only bring and use reef-safe sunscreen. We usually buy a small travel lotion of reef-safe sunscreen and then buy a bottle of reef-safe sunscreen when we arrive.
