Things to do in Stillwater

Minnesota Zoo

Mall of America

Biggest Mall in America. If too many people make you nervous, avoid! But if you enjoy shopping, an indoor amusement park, an aquarium and lots of food options, it may be worth the trip!

Walker Art Musem

The place to go if you love modern art. The sculpture garden is a must see (and free), and is home to the iconic spoon and cherry. Derek's favorite sculpture is the Blue Rooster!

Minnehaha Falls

A beautiful waterfall, with a lot of stairs. The trip down is fairly easy, it's the coming back up that's hard!

Twin Cities PRIDE

Twin Cities Pride is this weekend! In my heterosexual privilege I admit I was not aware it was PRIDE weekend when we booked the wedding weekend, we apologize! The Twin Cities has a number of PRIDE events over the weekend, including a parade on Sunday! The festivities kick off in Loring Park (very near the Walker if you want to kill two birds with one stone) Saturday morning at 10 am. Then the parade on Sunday morning at 11 am on Hennepin Ave between North 3rd St to 16th Street.

Betty Danger's Country Club

A great place to play some mini golf with a margarita, and to ride a ferris wheel! It’s sister restaurant is Psycho Suzi’s, a tiki themed restaurant/bar with a huge patio overlooking the Mississippi.

Travail Kitchen and Amusements

This place has Derek's favorite Old Fashioned. It's a trendy restaurant composed of 3 parts, in the front, their 20 course tasting menu is available, but you need to buy tickets ahead of time! They sell out fast. We tend to gravitate to the "wiggly bar" in the middle of the restaurant, where there is a small a la-carte menu and craft cocktails. And finally, in the back of the restaurant is their family meal, which is a smaller coursed meal designed by one of their chefs which they spotlight. If this feels out of budget, check out their pizza place, Pig Ate My Pizza, just a few storefronts down.

Lift Bridge Brewing Company

A 5 minute walk from the comfort inn and suites, unless you get lost in which case it’s 10! Great beer, and some non alcoholic treats as well, mini donut cream soda, and root beer
