Our Love Story begins with our mothers - Leesa & Leah if you can believe that! They would see each other frequently at the local Hardee's play area where our older brothers would go to play, & they decided that they should meet up for play dates. They would become fast friends & even became coworkers, both working at Foxy's restaurant in Spooner, WI. Fast forward a few years & Leah discovered she would be expectating a baby in August of 1994, while Leesa would discover she would have a baby in April of 1995. Upon our arrival into this world, our mom's would regularly tease one another that someday we would get married. As time moved on, a new job would take Dave & Leesa to Erie, PA for some time before settling in Minden, NV in 2003. Karissa grew up in Minden, NV while Derek & his family grew up in Spooner, WI. When it came time to go to college, Derek would pursue his passion for Fisheries Biology at Steven's Point while Karissa attended North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND for her passion in Animal Science & Agriculture. It was August 22, 2016 - Derek's birthday & Karissa reached out to him wishing him a Happy Birthday & suggesting to text each other to catch up after all these years... & the rest is History! Flash forward to September 14, 2019 where Karissa & Derek were walking their dog Brulee by a river in Amundson Park in Sparta, WI (where we now happily reside) & Karissa turned around to him down on one knee with a ring in his hand! We cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives with one another & look forward to celebrating with family & friends from all over! We defiantly have our mother's to thank for bringing us together!
