Question

Are kids allowed?

Answer

Yes, we want nothing more than to celebrate with our whole family and all our friends. However, we ask that you keep all children under your supervision at all times. If unable to do so, finding a babysitter would be recommended. Please keep in mind we are renting the church and facilities for the day but there will also be some group meetings through the church in designated areas (i.e. upstairs or in conference rooms). There are areas where guests and attendees are not allowed to go and we will be held responsible per our contract with the church staff.

Can we take photos or record videos with our phones?

Answer

Yes, but we ask that you please respect our designated photographers and do not interfere with their portraits and coverage of the wedding. Please turn your flashes off during the ceremony as it is permitted by the church in our contract. Please remain out of the aisle and in your seat during the ceremony. Our photographers are there to get their photos as a priority and should not be interfered with during specific moments such as the ceremony, portraits, cake cutting, first dance, etc. If you would like to upload photos and videos to social media please use the hashtag #dentonwedding102117 so we may be tagged in the photos as well.

Can we smoke at the wedding & reception?

Answer

No. Unfortunately Valley Mills Christian Church is a nonsmoking facility and asks that our guests please respect their property by keeping it nonsmoking. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. However if you would like to take a cigarette break, you may return to your vehicle in the parking lot. Please refrain from smoking in and around church grounds. Thanks

What food will be served at the reception?

Answer

Our menu will be as follows: Pulled pork w/buns & condiments Potato salad Cole slaw Corn on the cob skewers Veggie sticks w/ Ranch Drinks: Iced Tea Lemonade and/or Punch Water Desserts: Cake Cookies (choc chip, snickerdoodle, cranberry white choc macadamia nut) Candy (mints, jelly beans, etc)

Is the venue handicap friendly?

Answer

Yes. Everything is handicap accessible at Valley Mills. If there are certain requirements needed to attend, please feel free to let us know and we will be glad to accommodate.

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is semi-casual. Dress nice, but nothing formal. If you need an example, the groom is wearing jeans and a dress shirt. 😄 We want you to be comfortable, but feel like your having a nice night out. ☺

Can I bring a guest?

Answer

If your single and want to bring a date, that is fine with us. If you want to bring a large group of friends without letting us know, that's not okay. Its pretty simple. We just ask that you return your RSVP cards to us with the amount of attendees. We will only be planning enough food for those that RSVP.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive no later than 2:00pm. By the time everyone is seated we will be starting the ceremony at 2:30pm.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Unfortunately our wedding budget is not accommodating to certain diet restrictions or requests at this time.
