Matron of Honor
Kayla is not only a best friend, but someone who has walked alongside Jamie through some of life’s most important seasons. Jamie and Kayla first met on the softball field at DMACC in 2017. While they weren’t fast friends at first, an opportunity to become roommates and attend Iowa State University together in 2019 quickly changed that. What started as a simple living arrangement soon grew into a friendship Jamie can’t imagine life without. The two went on to live together for three more years, exploring Kansas City and cheering on the Chiefs. During that time, Jamie watched Kayla meet her husband, Robert. Today, Kayla and Robert live in Houston, TX, and are expecting their first son together. By the wedding day, Baby Beacham will be about 10 weeks old—so if you see Kayla, be sure to ask for baby photos!

Jamie’s best friend from childhood, Stephanie, has been by her side since Kindergarten. Growing up together in the small town of Martensdale, Iowa, they spent their summers riding bikes, swimming in Stephanie’s pool, playing hide-and-seek around town, and hitting softballs. Stephanie is the kind of friend you can go weeks—or even months—without speaking to, and still pick up right where you left off. She has been a constant, steady presence in Jamie’s life, and her friendship is something Jamie has always been able to count on. Stephanie lights up any room she enters with her big smile, boisterous laugh, and endless jokes (just please don’t bring up Justin Bieber). As adults, Jamie and Stephanie have found a shared love—and yearly tradition—of going to the Iowa State Fair together, eating their way through all the best award-winning fair foods.

Some of Jamie’s very first memories include Kyla by her side. From their early childhood days, the two were inseparable—spending countless nights together, sometimes turning entire spring breaks into one long sleepover. Fun fact: Jamie’s very first sleepover was at Kyla’s house—and it included a tornado that sent the two girls, along with Kyla’s mom and brother, into a tiny closet for shelter. While that first sleepover may have been a little traumatic for two six-year-olds, it certainly wasn’t the last. From playing “school” in Kyla’s shed to doing each other’s makeup and making silly videos, their friendship was built on laughter, creativity, and growing up side by side. Kyla is the kind of friend who is always honest and never afraid to speak her mind—something Jamie has always valued and needed. She’s someone people are instantly drawn to, not only because she’s beautiful, but because of how genuine, confident, and effortlessly likable she is. Jamie feels incredibly lucky to have had Kyla as such a constant and irreplaceable part of her life.
