Walk around the Old Whaling Port of Edgartown
Check out the charming shops, art galleries, old whaling captain's homes, and restaurants.
The Carnegie
Owned by the Vineyard Trust, The Carnegie recently opened in 2016 and offers a permanent exhibition about the development of Martha's Vineyard through the lens of the organization's historic landmark properties. They also offer walking tours of historic Edgartown. Check their website for details.
Bike Riding
There are great bike paths between towns and all around the island. It is mostly flat and beautiful to bike. It is easy to rent bikes all over the island (there are several bike shops in Edgartown alone), or you can bring yours over on most of the ferries (check online beforehand!).
Chappaquiddick Island
Take the “On Time” ferry from the Edgartown dock to Chappy. Visit the Mytoi Japanese Gardens, Cape Pogue lighthouse, East Beach or Dyke Bridge.
Island Alpaca Company
Come and visit some of the island's most adorable residents. Alpaca yoga is also available (check the website for details).
Gingerbread Houses
Come check out the idyllic Methodist camp meeting houses (dating back to 1835) with their pastel colours and intricate wood carvings. Don’t miss the Cottage Museum at the entrance to the campground, opposite the Tabernacle.
Island Cove Mini Golf
Unwind with a relaxing game of mini golf (unless you’re playing against Erica who loves a competition). And remember: loser always buys ice cream!
Gay Head Lighthouse
All the way up-island, the Gay Head Lighthouse has protected Martha's Vineyards shores since John Adams’s presidency!
