We have been members of the Fort Worth Zoo since we moved here. It has definitely earned the title as one of the Top 10 zoos in the country. Fort Worth Zoo Established in 1909, the Fort Worth Zoo is the oldest continuously operated zoo in Texas and home to more than 540 animal species from around the world. More than 100 of those species are part of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Species Survival Plan, and 68 are endangered or threatened. An international leader in Asian elephant conservation, the zoo is also the only one in the country to display representatives from all four Great Ape species – gorillas, bonobos, chimpanzees and orangutans.
The Stockyards is a great place to walk around and see the beautiful Longhorns and horses. See the cattle drive held every day at 11:30 AM & 4:00 PM
Sundance is where our bench is and where Mark proposed to me. Our bench is located right across from the Chisholm Trail Mural. Sundance Square Plaza is a great place to hang out with friends, indulge your senses, and let your everyday worries disappear. The huge umbrellas provide shade from the sun by day and a colorful LED light show at night. The large Jetted Fountain on the west side creates an ever-changing display through 216 individual water nozzles. The plumes of water can dart gracefully into the air as high as 12 feet or remain steady a few inches off the ground. At night, this fountain lights up in a dazzling display.
