If you have more time and you want to explore another coastal town, you can visit Baltchik. It’s 30-40 min outside of Varna. We would be happy to assist with travel arrangements. The Botanical Garden in Balchik is a beautiful place to visit, with sea views and terraced paths alongside the Black Sea. It’s part of the former palace of Queen Maria Regina of Romania, which gives it a quiet, almost timeless feel. Inside the garden, there’s a small wine shop selling unique Bulgarian wines and liqueurs you won’t find in regular stores—think flavors like pomegranate, fig, and Bulgarian rose. It’s a lovely, unexpected stop that makes the visit even more memorable. The garden is layered on the cliffs - make sure to wear comfortable shoes to walk up the old stone pathways. If interested in a day trip, reach out to me, so I can assist with transportation. We recommend visiting in the afternoon.
Balchik offers several great golf courses, with our top recommendation being Thracian Cliffs Golf Course, spectacularly set on the cliffs above the Black Sea. The course offers stunning views of lush green landscapes on one side and the sea on the other. It also features a beautiful private beach with a relaxed, boho-style restaurant. If you’re interested, let us know and we’ll be happy to help arrange tee times and transportation.
