How We Met

April 26, 2020

Their love story is a testament to the power of connection, fate, and a touch of investigative work. Ken "swiped" Denise off her feet when a casual conversation on an online dating app (not called Tinder) led to years of dating and a strong friendship. Timing is everything. These two were just getting to know each other when the coronavirus pandemic was taking shape. The country went into lockdown. But that didn’t keep Ken & Denise apart. Their conversations grew long, stretching into the late evening hours. Denise found herself drawn to Ken and his ability to make her feel comfortable and vulnerable. They didn't have the traditional start at love. But their love story is a reminder that love finds a way, even in the most unexpected circumstances. With unconditional love as their compass, Ken and Denise are excited to celebrate the start of our forever together, grateful for the unconventional path that led them to this moment.

The Proposal

June 24, 2023

A Hike to Forever: The Proposal Their love story has been an adventure from the very beginning, and it was only fitting that the next chapter of their journey unfolded in the midst of one of their favorite activities: hiking. With the beauty of nature as their backdrop and the promise of forever in their hearts, Ken knew the time was right. Denise was flying her drone, capturing the vast view of the sprawling wetlands. It didn't seem out of the ordinary because this was often the case when the two went hiking. But this time, Ken was the pilot. With a vision in mind, he directed Denise to slowly fly over the boardwalk where they stood (in a very cinematic approach). Denise just thought "Wow, Ken is getting creative. Let's go for it." That's when Ken went for it: kneeling down onto one knee he pulled a little black box from his hiking shorts (which Denise did not notice because she was all too concerned with not crashing her drone in the alligator-infested water), and he popped the question. Denise jumped with joy, but not too much - because once again - she was capturing the proposal on the drone as Ken perfectly planned, and she didn't want to crash her drone in all of the excitement. She said, "Yes!" As they stood there, hand in hand, overlooking the world that lay before them, they knew that this was just the beginning of an even greater adventure—the adventure of building a life together, hand in hand, step by step.
