The Wedding Website of Denise Castañeda and John Loomis

Christina Castañeda

Maid of Honor

Often described as a "one woman conga line" by the Bride, there was only one person qualified to take on the duties of Maid of Honor. Christina (affectionately called TeeTee by family members) is the Bride's older sister. Beautiful, intelligent, and capable of calming down Denise's bridal breakdowns, she has been a constant, dependable voice of reason for the Bride. No one else could do the job better and no one else is a better sister!

Scott Steggerda

Best Man

Scott (aka "Scooter") and Jack were both stationed at Fort Bliss, TX as their initial assignment out of flight school. Serving as Jack's platoon leader, the two would split their time between flying helicopters by day, and discovering the great town of El Paso by night. The two would become close friends, as (Scott would say) "were just two dudes just figuring out the world". Scott and Jack fell in love with the South West and in turn, would meet their respective wives in El Paso.

Carmen Waterman

Bridesmaid

Having a friend who's seen you through your highest highs and lowest lows is one of life's greatest blessings. Having that friend for more than 20 years is an embarrassment of riches. Carmen is the Bride's bestest chum since their high school years and if you don't love her after meeting her, there must be something seriously wrong with you.

Nathan Loomis

Groomsman

Growing up, Jack saw Nathan as his ultimate source of fun and imagination. Always up for a good time, creative, and dependable, Nate exemplified the role of big brother. Although physical distance may keep them apart as they've grown older and wiser, Nathan and Jack have always been there for each other as close friends as well as brothers.

Katie Lovato

Bridesmaid

Fellow theatre nerd Katie met the Bride when they were both cast as princesses in an awful college production of "Cinderella" and they've been bursting into song ever since. The fairy tale continued through bad breakups, eclectic fashion choices, and the discovery that Katie and the Bride are both strong, intelligent women who can face any challenge.

Travis Gilliland

Groomsman

Jack and Travis met in high school. To be specific, Jack and Travis spent their freshman year sizing each other up, and after they figured out neither of them were up to any good, finally became great friends. Travis has always been the source of laughter...and infuriating dad jokes, in Jack's life. Even though, after choosing to serve in the military, they found themselves miles apart for months or years at a time, they would always find a time and a place to link up and check in on one another. Travis will never admit it but he is, and always has been, a role model for Jack.
