FAQs

The Wedding Website of Denise Valero and Edward Ficht
Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

We mailed formal invitations July 27. The invitations have paper RSVPs to return to us. The RSVPs state how many seats are reserved for your party. You should RSVP by September 17 with the names of those attending, each person's entrée choice, and dietary restrictions.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. Although we love your children, we cannot accommodate them at the venue. The reception is an adults-only event.

Question

Do I need to be vaccinated against COVID-19?

Answer

The City of Chicago no longer requires proof of vaccination. We recommend that you check https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/sites/covid19-vaccine/home/chi-vaccine-requirement.html closer to the wedding date, in case requirements are put back in place. However, for the sake of your own health and the health of those around you, we humbly ask that attendees are vaccinated.

Question

What is the COVID-19 policy at the church?

Answer

Currently, there is no vaccine requirement, and masks are optional. The most up-to-date details can be found at www.archchicago.org/coronavirus/reopening.

Question

Will there be a wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner?

Answer

Yes, for members of the wedding party only. The rehearsal will be at 5pm on Friday, October 21 (the day before the wedding), at Assumption Catholic Church, 323 West Illinois Street, Chicago, IL 60654. For parking information at the church, click on the "Travel" link at the top of the page. The rehearsal dinner will follow at 6:30pm at a restaurant in the Little Italy neighborhood. The restaurant is about a 10-minute drive (2.4 miles) from the church. There is inexpensive street parking around the restaurant, and valet parking is also available.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Feel free to stay at whichever hotel or Airbnb you prefer. While there are cheaper options nearby, we do have room blocks at two hotels for your convenience. Please click on the "Travel" link at top of the page for more information. Then, click "View" for the hotel you want to go to the respective reservation page. Note that due to the closure of our original reception location, we have canceled the prior hotel block at Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park.

Question

Is there parking available for the ceremony and/or reception?

Answer

Please click on the "Travel" link at the top of the page.

Question

What are the entrée options for the reception?

Answer

The chicken option is a roasted half chicken with lemon and oregano gremolata. The fish option is Faroe Island salmon on top of sweet onion & parsnip puree, gastrique, & butter sauce. The vegetarian option is warm Greek orzo with roasted red pepper, feta cheese, summer squash, spinach, Marcona almonds, raisins, oregano, and vinaigrette. The chicken and fish options come with two sides--herb potato gratin and roasted Brussel sprouts with balsamic vinegar. The orzo pasta helping is generous and thus does not come with sides. Please select 1 entrée option per person, and let us know any dietary restrictions on the RSVP card.

Question

What kind of song requests are you looking for for the RSVP?

Answer

Feel free to recommend any song from a mix of genres in either English or Spanish. However, our band, 4theBeat, has a list of songs that they typically choose from here: https://marymonicamusic.com/s/4theBeat-Songlist-Website-7-10-2021-7m2p.pdf. We are also looking for mariachi song recommendations!

Question

Answer

Our wedding planners, Tionna and Kristina, can be reached at 614-432-2334 and 219-670-5502, respectively.
