Travel

Summer in the Rocky Mountains is one of the most beautiful times of the year, Banff and Canmore come alive with sunshine, breathtaking views, and endless outdoor activities. It’s also the most popular travel season, so we highly recommend booking flights and accommodations well in advance to ensure availability and the best rates. For guests flying in, both Banff and Canmore are about a 1.5-hour drive from Calgary International Airport (YYC). Staying in Calgary and driving to the ceremony is also a great alternative, especially if you prefer being closer to the airport or city amenities. Please note that our wedding weekend falls at the beginning of the Calgary Stampede (July 3–12, 2026) one of Canada’s largest and most popular festivals, featuring rodeos, concerts, food, and western celebrations. Because of the Stampede, hotels and flights in Calgary tend to book up quickly, so we recommend making your reservations as early as possible.

CALGARY INTERNATIONAL (YYC)

Transportation

If you’re traveling from out of town, there is no direct transportation to the mountains, we highly recommend renting a car for the most convenient travel to Canmore and Banff. Please plan your arrival in advance to secure your rental car. Additionally, this will also give you the flexibility to explore the area during your stay. For those traveling from nearby cities, Canmore and Banff are easily accessible by car for a quick getaway to the mountains. Here are some car rental options available at both Calgary and Edmonton airports: • Enterprise Rent-A-Car • National Car Rental • Budget Rent-A-Car • Hertz • Avis • Turo – A peer-to-peer car rental service where you can rent cars directly from car owners. It can sometimes offer more flexibility or unique vehicle options.
