Question

Will the ceremony be inside or outside?

Answer

We are planning to have a brief outdoor ceremony followed by an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour and an indoor reception. Should weather dictate otherwise, all events will be held inside. Because of the unpredictable weather patterns of Northern Virginia in November, we ask that guests keep an eye on the weather and dress accordingly. However, all events will be moved inside if the temperatures drop too low or if there is rain/snow.

What should I wear?

Answer

We encourage guests to wear the cocktail or semi-formal attire in which they feel most comfortable. Please remember that the November weather in Virginia can vary widely and please dress warmly enough. There will also be an area to leave coats inside during the reception.

What's for dinner?

Answer

Dinner will be served family-style. The salad will be an apple and mixed green salad. Main courses will include honey mustard glazed salmon and pan-roasted chicken. Sides include cheese-filled pasta with pesto, mashed potatoes, and roasted vegetables. A dessert bar will be available.

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

YES! A selection of wine, beer, and spirits will be available. Please drink responsibly and plan to Lyft/Uber from the venue if possible.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

Please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. Our photographer will be taking many photos to capture the moment and the online gallery will be made available to all guests. We love that you wish to take photos but we would prefer that you be in the moment with us and to not experience the ceremony through the lens of your camera. During cocktail hour and the reception, please feel free to take as many photos with your phone as you wish!

Can I bring my children?

To allow all guests to relax and enjoy themselves, we have chosen to make our special day adults only. We thank you for your understanding.

Will there be parking on site?

Answer

Yes. The Woodlands has free parking on site and cars can remain overnight if needed. Additionally, there is a shuttle from the Hyatt Hotel to the venue and back. Lyft/Uber/Rideshare options are also available.

Are other hotels available?

Answer

Yes. While we have reserved room blocks at two hotels, there are many hotels in the area and we encourage guests to stay where they feel comfortable.
