Known as the world's only "drive-in" volcano, Sulphur Springs features a road running right through the crater of the Soufrière Volcano, where you can actually get out and take a dip in the natural mud baths. $5-11 per person open 9am-5pm daily.
Ladera resort is situated between the beautiful two 3,000ft Gros Piton and Petit Piton mountains. Both offer guided hiking tours. Greg and I have hiked the Gros Piton twice, which takes approximately 2-3 hours to the top and 2 hours to climb down. It was no easy feat, but the views/sense of accomplishment (and guy selling Piton beers) at the top was well worth it! If that sounds too easy, the Petit Piton is even steeper and requires ropes at parts, not for the faint of heart!
If you don’t want to leave the resort, you still won’t ever be bored! Check out the nature trail which leads to breathtaking views, an outdoor “all eco” gym, herb gardens and banana trees. Join free one hour yoga classes Monday-Saturday or check out the gym with cardio and weight machines. At night, take a trip to the observatory for some star gazing.
