Anie was living in New York City at the time. She was visiting her aunt in LA and making arrangements to move here. She decided to see what the dating pool was like in LA and downloaded Inner Circle. Meanwhile, Brandon did too. We went on our first date to The Blind Barber in Culver City. 4 or 5 hours passed in no time and though we didn't know exactly what had just happened, we both could agree now that it felt significant. We went on a second date bar hopping and ended the night at a taco truck on the west side. That night, Anie told Brandon she had to go back to New York in the next week, but that she'd be moving to LA. She had booked a show off-broadway and felt like she should give New York a proper goodbye. We went on five dates in that first week since time was so limited. When Anie got back to New York, we Facetimed every day and once Anie set a date to move to Los Angeles, we started our relationship. The rest is history.

Anie dropped Brandon at the airport and he headed to Madrid a few days early with James and Gabi. When they got to the airport, Brandon let James and Gabi know his plans. Anie met up with the group a few days later in Barcelona. The first night, we had amazing tapas and wine. The next morning we headed to Park Guell. Park Guell is a gorgeous park in the heart of Barcelona. It's lush and was designed by the late architect Gaudi who was known for his eccentric designs with colorful mosaics. We had seen the iconic mosaic and had just found a pretty underpass where a guitarist was playing Beatles songs. Brandon spotted a beautiful clearing in the middle of a bunch of greenery and asked Anie to go take a picture. Mike, Danielle, and Jackie all got the hint that it was about to happen, so they rushed to document it. Mike even dove into some bushes. Brandon got down on one knee and popped the question. We celebrated at a nearby restaurant with Paella (only for James though) and delicious local food and wine. We got to celebrate the afterglow of the engagement for the next week in gorgeous places first Barcelona, then Seville, and then Lisbon, Portugal.
