How to get to Mackinac Island?

Answer

The most common way to travel to Mackinac Island is by ferry. We have arranged for a group discount code through Shepler's Mackinac Ferry, which offers departures from Mackinaw City and St. Ignace. Complimentary day parking and paid overnight parking options are available at both locations. Visit Shepler's website for more details. We have set up a group discount through Shepler's ferry. If purchasing tickets online use the code "tietheknot2026" to receive a discount on your tickets. If purchasing tickets at the docks, mention the Benzie/Delavergne wedding for our discounted ticket rate.

How to get around the Island?

Answer

Transportation is limited to horse drawn-carriage, bicycle or by foot. All locations for the wedding are located within walking distance, therefore transportation is not provided. If you do not want or are unable to walk, there are plenty of horse-drawn taxis to get you around the island, available 24 hours a day. Please call (906) 847-3323 to request a horse drawn taxi through Mackinac Island Carriage Tours. Cash only!

When should a room reservation be secured?

We recommend booking your hotel reservation as soon as possible as Mackinac Island is a very popular summer destination. Please see Travel tab for more details.

Do I have to stay on the Island?

Answer

No, you don't need to stay on the island, however, we recommend it! Please see Travel tab for hotel recommendations on the island. Please visit Shepler's website to see ferry schedule. If you want to stay off the island, we recommend St. Ignace or Mackinaw City.
