FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Our dress code is summer formal. We recommend light, breathable fabrics. Because Old Homestead Farm has grassy and uneven areas, wedge heels, block heels, or flats are encouraged over stilettos. Gentlemen may opt for suits or dress pants with a button-down; jackets are welcome but not required in the summer heat. THINK EASTER IN THE SUMMER

Question

Is the ceremony indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors (weather permitting). The reception will be inside the restored horse barn at Old Homestead Farm with air conditioning.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving 30 minutes early to allow time for parking, walking to the ceremony area, and getting settled.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Due to limited seating, we can only accommodate children listed on the RSVP. If your child does not need a seat, they are welcome to come.

Question

What is the weather like in early July?

Answer

North Carolina summers are warm and humid. We recommend light, breathable clothing and bringing a small fan or water bottle. The barn is shaded and ventilated, and there will be plenty of cold drinks.

Question

Is there parking on-site?

Answer

Yes, the venue has plenty of on-site parking. Guests can park and walk directly to the ceremony space.

Question

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes — the barn and main areas are accessible, though some outdoor paths are natural terrain.

Question

What will be served at the reception?

Answer

We will be catering tacos from Islands Tacos.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

There will be no alcohol at our wedding. We will provide alternative drinks.

Question

I have dietary restrictions. Can you accommodate me?

Answer

We are catering a taco buffet from Islands Tacos. While we are not able to provide customized dietary accommodations, there will be simple snacks during cocktail hour that some guests with dietary restrictions may be able to enjoy. You are welcome to bring something you feel comfortable eating if needed. We want everyone to feel relaxed and enjoy the evening.

Question

Are there things to do in Wilmington for the 4th?
