Due to unforeseen circumstances of COVID-19 we had to postpone our wedding in order for us to celebrate with all our friends and family. We pray that this pandemic will pass in due time.
"So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate."
05.01.19 A day to remember!! I have been planning this special occasion for over three months. In my mind, I am very romantic but for Sharne I am not sure what she thinks of my romantic side. On 5 January 2019, I decided to love, care and carry Sharne in the palms of my hands for the rest of my life. We went on a scenic route in a helicopter over the beautiful lands of Harties with a surprise picnic on top of the mountain. As we got to the picnic my palms were sweaty and my knee was heavy. I dropped down on my right knee, had so much to say but in the end, all that came out was... "Sal jy asseblief met my trou varkie?"
Sunday, 5 January 2019 As we woke up on this rainy morning, I couldn't help but notice how anxious and nervous Delano seemed, (He thought that he was doing a good job at hiding his emotions), but after 6 years of being together, you get to know the little things such as when that person is acting a little strange and weird. For starters, we didn't have a very good night's rest as we were up with Delano all night. He kept complaining about stomach cramps, headaches and nausea - little did I know that the poor man was suffering the night before because of what would happen the very next day. We had breakfast scheduled with two friends who stayed over with us - as we were about to leave my phone rang, the lady on the other side informed us that due to the thunder we would not be able to go on our helicopter ride. As I think back to this day, I remember seeing the disappointment on Delano's face. Instead, the four of us went to a little hidden breakfast spot. About half an hour later we again received a call that if we were able to be there within 20 minutes we could still have our helicopter ride. Never have I seen Delano organise this fast, we ended up paying R700 for breakfast which was ridiculous but all that was important was getting into the car and getting to that helicopter ride. He was awkwardly quiet during the ride - I knew that something was up! We took a nice flight over the Magalies mountains. When the helicopter landed, I saw our picnic spot. He did well. He had all our favourite snacks and champagne. As time went by I kept noticing how he would rub his hand to the blanket - then the moment that changed my life forever. We got up to look at one of the birds chirping down the mountain when he took my hand and went down on one knee. I knew at that moment that all my wildest dreams had become a reality! He would no longer only be my best friend - but soon become my husband!
