We first crossed paths in 2020 at a regional band festival hosted at Drew’s high school in Martinsburg. We sat just one seat apart, quietly aware of each other the entire weekend—but neither of us spoke. Too shy to make the first move, we simply exchanged shy glances and left the weekend wondering “what if.” Drew worked up the courage to talk to me, but by then, I was already gone. Luckily, fate (and our section group chat) intervened, as I found his Instagram and messaged him that same evening. From that moment on, we were inseparable, texting and FaceTiming constantly. Our first date was a high school basketball game between our schools (mine won, for the record), and not long after, Drew showed up at my door with balloons and all my favorite candies to wish me a happy birthday and Valentine’s Day, and to ask me to be his girlfriend. We officially started dating on February 13, 2020, just before the world shut down due to the COVID pandemic. For the next six months, our relationship blossomed virtually as we navigated the pandemic. When it was safe, we picked up where we left off with coffee dates, park picnics, and even some home renovation projects, as Drew helped my family redo my bedroom. In August 2021, our relationship shifted into long-distance mode when I (Erin) moved to Gainesville, Georgia, for college. It wasn’t always easy, but through every challenge, we stayed committed. After four years apart, Drew proposed on October 13, 2024, at Cooper’s Rock in Morgantown, West Virginia, a place that holds a special place in our hearts. Over the years, we’ve grown together in the best ways. I admire Drew’s passion for music, his selflessness, and his gentle heart. He admires my determination, bold spirit, and joyful energy. We share a goofy sense of humor and always find a way to have fun, no matter what we’re doing. We’re both so excited to be marrying our high school sweetheart after five wonderful years. I graduated from Brenau University in May 2025 with a BA in Dance and a BS in Exercise Science, and Drew earned his BA in Music Industry from West Virginia University. We’re currently living and working in Charles Town and Martinsburg while planning our wedding, and we’ll be relocating once I begin my Doctor of Physical Therapy program in May 2026. We are both delighted and grateful to spend this special time with our beloved family and friends. We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us in our journey so far and to those who are continuing to support us in this new and exciting chapter of life.
