We met senior year of High School. He was the new kid, and I was his sister's teammate. When I left basketball to star in the school musical, there was no reason to think he and I would become friends. However, we ended up in psychology class together and have been studying each other's minds ever since. Instead of "Hey, Wassup?" Our first encounter was me messaging him on Facebook. I told him about a dream I had where he and I worked together to save his entire family from bad guys. This interaction was the beginning of our peculiar friendship. Though we had different social circles, we always made sure to exchange a few words whenever we came across one another. After graduation, we each led separate lives. Four years and a couple of heartbreaks later, we got reacquainted through a text message that read "Hello Miss Lee." It seemed, at first, that this was just an old friend reaching out to catch up. My roommate, and now Maid of Honor, insisted that I reply back. After that, Devin and I started hanging out together at parties and restaurants. Our family and friends speculated that this was something more than friendship. It turned out they were right. Though we debate on what precise day prompted this turn in the relationship, we can both agree it was a long time coming.
