Their Story

They first met at a diocesan high-school church retreat in the Spring of 2014. Matt was Gabby's small group leader. In that retreat, he gave a talk on prayer. It was right after his talk when he sang "Lord I need You." It was that exact moment when Gabby knew she would marry him one day. Matt, on the other hand, didn't think much of it at the time. Flash forward to the fall of 2016, Gabby moved to San Angelo for college and was reunited with Matthew through the Catholic Newman center on campus. They were both in the church choir and became good friends. After a nudge from a dear friend of theirs, Matt finally asked Gabby out on their first date. They became an official couple on Nov. 8, 2016, and were together for almost three years when Matt asked for her hand while hiking in Lost Maples on Nov. 2, 2019.

A Poem

"In a song, I found you. Through music, I knew you. Like singing, we have highs and lows. But it was in those sweet moments when our sounds, like soft embers, lit a fire for love to grow. It devours my soul, and I need you to know, that your love was always my symphony." - yours
