Our story began on a lovely Sunday evening at my monthly book club, where about six or seven of us had gathered, as usual. At some point, the topic of dating and relationships came up, and—very impulsively—I blurted out, “Does anyone have any nice, single friends they could set me up with?” I wasn’t really expecting anything to come of it, and soon the conversation shifted to other topics. But later, Abby came up to me and said, “I actually might have someone! My husband’s best friend is single, and he’s one of my absolute favorites out of all of Seth’s friends. Everyone calls him Mossa… but… his actual first name is… David.” Side note: For those of you who don’t know, my dog is also named David (an ode to David Rose from the amazing show Schitt’s Creek). And to make it even weirder/funnier, my license plate literally says: EWWD4VD—another Schitt’s Creek reference. 😂 So, honestly, the moment I heard his name was David, I was already sold. But Abby went on to show everyone his photo, and before I could say a word, my friend Kayla chimed in: “Yep! He’s her perfect type. It’s happening.” From there, Abby and Seth worked their matchmaking magic. After just a bit of texting back and forth, David and I went on our first date on Friday, May 31st, 2024. And to think… I almost didn’t go to book club that night. :)
