Travel and Accomodations

Travel Tips + Tricks Flights: We recommend using Skyscanner, or a similar flight app, to see all the options available. Its often less expensive to fly into London or Paris and transfer to another airline from there! https://www.skyscanner.com/ Trains: Trains are highly convenient and relatively inexpensive way to travel. Trainline gives you access to both train and bus schedules so you can self-transfer easily. https://www.thetrainline.com/ Rental Cars: European rentals are not super expensive, and you can drive with your American license! We would suggest watching some YouTube videos to get familiar with round-abouts and common streets signs/limitations. We have parking available at the venue for rental cars. Taxis: Uber is not a thing in Italy and taxis can often be difficult to pin down, but use the below link as a good resource for prices and availability around Florence. https://www.visitflorence.com/moving-around-florence/by-taxi.html Plus, come stay with us!

Flight

Florence Airport (FLR)

Florence Airport (FLR) is a smaller international airport just 6km (~3.5 miles, for freedom-lovers) from the Duomo. It is connected to the city by an above-ground rail system that can take you directly to Florence's Santa Maria Novella train station.

Flight

Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO)

Rome is another excellent option to fly into, tour around for a few days, and then catch a train or rent a car up to Florence. You can expect a ~1.5 hour train or ~3 hour drive from Rome to Florence.

Flight

Milan Airports

Milan is to Italy what New York is to the U.S., it has 3 airports in the vicinity - Milan Malpensa (MXP), Milan Bergamo (BGY), and Milan Linate (LIN). Each airport has its own connection to Italy's vast rail network, so it is a good option to fly to a larger airport and take the ~3 hour train to Florence. This is what we did in April 2024!

Train

Firenze Santa Maria Novella

Florence's (a.k.a. Firenze) central train station has direct connections to Venice, Milan, and Rome and all their associated airports. It also has trains locally to Empoli, which could help you get to the venue by train + bus combination.
