Deepti and Sathwik were introduced on a blind date by family friends—but from the very start, it was clear this would be anything but ordinary. Sathwik quite literally *went the distance* to make their meeting happen, driving from New Jersey to Connecticut and even staying overnight with his cousin just for the chance to meet Deepti. Adding a touch of humor to the story, Sathwik’s mother happened to be visiting the U.S. from India at the time. On the morning of their date, Deepti jokingly called to confirm whether his mom might be joining them—he reassured her that wouldn’t be happening anytime soon :) Both approached the date with grounded expectations, shaped by life experience, anticipating a brief 1–2 hour introduction. Instead, their meeting unfolded into a long, easy conversation over lunch, where they quickly realized there was something truly special between them. Since that day, Deepti and Sathwik have cherished traveling together, building connections with each other’s families, and thoughtfully planning the next chapters of their lives side by side. They became engaged in January during an intimate ceremony at a Hindu temple, surrounded by their closest elders, and are overjoyed to celebrate their journey with loved ones this July.
