The 2.5 hour drive from Missoula up to Glacier National Park is full of history, spectacular scenery, and quaint towns on the edge of a mountain wilderness. As you drive north there are notable places to stop for a bite to eat, take in the expansive landscape, jump in a lake, and learn about this unique part of America.
In less than an hour's drive outside of Missoula, you can hop back in time to experience the Gold Rush era in Montana. Garnet is the real deal, you’ll find yourself transported to the early 1900s as you walk the streets of Montana’s best-preserved ghost town which was still inhabited up to the 1960s.
