PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE WAZE. It will take you on some rugged back roads that need a 4 wheel drive to access. GPS will get you there, but on return it will falter and have no signal. Here are written directions back. These will be available at the Venue as well. DIRECTIONS from Wedding Venue to 575 South Please be aware that GPS signal is absent at the wedding venue. Following these directions will get you back to Interstate 575 South. Your GPS signal will pick up approximately 10 minutes after you depart the venue. *Follow the gravel road back the way you came to Zion Hill Road (approximately 0.8 mi Vere left to merge onto Zion Hill Rd *Turn left onto Gates Chapel Rd *Turn left onto GA-2/GA-52 E *At the traffic circle, take the 4th exit onto GA-52 E/River St *Turn right onto 1st Ave/Soule Bridge *Turn right onto GA-5 S/GA-515 W *Continue onto GA-5 S/I-575 S
The Atlanta Airport (ATL) is roughly 2 hours to Ellijay, GA. Chattanooga Airport (CHA) is also an option. It is approx. 1-1/2 hours from the town of Ellijay. The venue is 9 mountain miles from the town center.
There is currently no shuttle, train, bus transportation to and from the airports of ATL or CHA to Ellijay, Ga. Airports have car rental agencies. The other option is TURO. We've used Turo multiple times in the past without any issues(knock on wood). Turo is similar to Airbnb, but with a car. An individual rents their personal vehicle at airports, city centers, etc. Like Airbnb you have to sign up. We are not advocating, just another option.
We do not have any hotel recommendations. However, please check the "Travel" sections for an assortment of options in the area we provided.
Wedding starts at 4:30pm. Arriving by 4:00pm should give you enough time to walk and find a seat.
There is no formal parking. Parking is in the driveway or along the gravel country road. ***We ask that you park facing the "exit" direction. There is no "out" on this tiny country road, nor is there any lighting to guide you. Take a moment to turn around while light outside and park to "exit". We are concerned about 3 point turns on this small road, in the thick of night and cars getting hit.
Predominantly nave blue and silver/pewter, a bit of cream. Throw in some green and rust for the mountains.
Simi-casual. Please refrain from holey, revealing clothing, flip-flops etc.
There will be no assigned seating. Sit anywhere you please.
The wedding is outside in a field and the reception will be outdoors, under a pole barn. The ground is uneven and there are 2 ponds on the grounds.
We are not registered anywhere.
Late September, early October the weather is traditionally 75/51. Averaging 6 days of rain in early Fall. However, due to a unusually mild summer, it could be 65/40. Best way to be prepared, check your favorite weather channel for current weather prior to traveling to Ellijay. City to check under is Ellijay, GA. Sweaters, light jackets are strongly suggested.
We certainly hope so, but it is dependent on Mother Nature. Georgia has had a mild summer, so fingers crossed that the colors will come early.
There are additional activities for family and out of State guest.
