Guatemala has been part of Ross’ story long before it became part of ours. His mom, Shelley, and aunt, Ellen, moved to Guatemala City and grew up there from childhood through high school. It’s where Ross’ grandpa married Irene, blending two families into one big, lively crew that has only grown with lots of grand babies over the years. After a couple of years of dating, we traveled to Guatemala together for the first time as a couple. Getting to meet more of the family, hear their stories firsthand, and experience the culture together made everything feel even more meaningful. Then came Antigua. In 2020, we took a helicopter from Guatemala City to Antigua Guatemala to spend a day and night there, and it was the perfect start to an adventure we didn’t yet realize would become part of our wedding story. The cobblestone streets, bright and colorful buildings, and sweeping volcano views created an unforgettable experience that captured everything we love: good views, fun energy, walkable streets, and incredible food and drinks. Once we graduated college and started talking seriously about our future, we kept coming back to the same idea. Why not do something different and bring everyone we love to a place that already means so much to us? Why not turn a wedding into a weekend of exploring, celebrating, and making new memories together? Without a doubt, the answer was Guatemala. We can’t wait to show you around and introduce you to the city we fell in love with. Pack your bags and get ready for a little adventure, we truly cannot wait to celebrate with you!
