Sleeping Bear Dunes
The Sleeping Bear Dunes is truly a magical place, and it's probably beautiful in the winter, so bring your snowshoes!
Leland
Go check out fishtown! It's about a 25 minute drive from Glen Arbor, north on the Leelanau peninsula. There is ton of shopping and great restaurants.
Cherry Republic | Glen Arbor
Visit the original Cherry Republic, right is downtown Glen Arbor. They are are a brewery and restaurant too, so make sure to grab one of their famous cherry chicken salad sandwiches and a cherry beer while you are there. If you're not into beer, they also offer wine tastings and wine by the glass!
Traverse City
Traverse City is about a 35 minute drive from Glen Arbor. If you are looking for more of a city vibe, then Traverse City would be a great place to visit. There are tons of shops and dining to choose from.
Old Mission Peninsula
There are so many wineries on the Old Mission Peninsula, there is no way I could list them all. If you are feeling extra adventurous, you can take yourself on a wine tour down the entire peninsula. The website I listed here is really helpful to find a winery you would like to visit. I do suggest either calling the winery or visiting their website before going though, because I am not sure if they are closed for the winter season.
Crystal River Outfitters Recreational District
Forgot your snowshoes? No problem! The Crystal River Outfitter rents them out! You can also rent cross country skis and fat tire bikes. Hopefully we will have enough snow to take advantage of that!
