We met through a mutual friend at Crochet Club (neither of us know how to crochet, for the record). After many weeks of attempted flirting, Miguel finally asked DebiAnn on a date after spending some time together with friends at a local film festival. Evidently, the date went very well.
DebiAnn once described Miguel as “the boy version” of her, so it didn't come as a surprise when things began to get serious pretty quickly. DebiAnn had said for years that she wanted an emerald engagement ring, just like one of her favorite book characters, and had even gone as far as picking out her dream ring years before she met Miguel. And when the time came, Miguel managed to find the ring and get it in secret. He proposed at one of their favorite hiking spots and DebiAnn said “yes” after relentlessly crying for 20 minutes.
