Travel

We recommend that our guests fly into the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. Some guests may choose to stay a night (or two) in Paris before driving 2.5 hours to the Chateau de Courtomer or to their nearby hotel.

Flight

Flights to Paris

We recommend guests look early and often for tickets to Paris. As August is a busy season for Paris, we'd suggest using an app like Hopper or Google Flights to track prices. Many guests will arrive in Paris a day or two early, or stay a day or two later to get better airline deals. For Nashville guests, it is often cheaper to book a flight to NYC, and a separate flight to Paris.

Rental Car

Hertz Rental Car

We recommend that you rent a car. The Chateau is 2.5 hours from Paris, and a car is the easiest and quickest route. The average rental car price out of Charles de Gauelle is $35/day. We recommend carpooling with fellow attendees to cut costs. Let us know if you need help finding a carpool. Keep in mind that in France, they drive on the right side of the road, just like us.

Train

Rail Europe

Alternatively, you can take the train from Paris' Montparnasse station to the L'aigle station. The ride is about 1h20m, and costs $12 for coach, and $17 for first class. Keep in mind that the Paris Montparnasse station is a 40m drive from the Paris airport, and the arrival station is about 25 minutes from the Chateau and hotels.

Hotel

Maison Ceronne Hotel

The Maison Ceronne is American luxury in the French Countryside. Prices range from $150-$250/per night, which includes breakfast. While there are only 8 bedrooms, this hotel boasts two heated swimming pools, a sauna & steam room, a private award-winning restaurant, theater, and beautiful property. We visited this hotel, toured the property, and spoke with the owners on our trip - it's beautiful! The hotel is about a 15 minute drive from the Chateau. On arrival, the hotel will arrange for a car to pick you up from the local train station.

Hotel

Hotel Du Tribunal

The Hotel Du Tribunal in the center of medieval village of Mortagne au Perche. The adjoining restaurant has wonderful food, including a great French breakfast. The hotel costs about $85/day, and far exceeded our expectations. The rooms are small, but look much better than their website's pictures. We'd recommend upgrading to one of their larger rooms. This hotel is a 25 minute drive from the Chateau.

House Or Rental

AirBnB for Group

This Airbnb is great option for a group of friends (3-6 people) looking for a place together. It's a renovated old house, it has kept its charm thanks to the old elements highlighted such as wood beams, stone and lime plaster.

Travel Note

Passports

Don't forget to renew your passport! Your passport must be valid through November 30, 2020 to return to the U.S.

Travel Note

Extra Night or Two in Paris

We recommend that guests take advantage of the wedding to explore Paris, Geneva, or any other surrounding areas. Flights may be cheaper if you fly into Paris on a Wednesday, and stay the night (or two) before driving to Normandy for the wedding.
