We eloped! 4.18.20

We’ve chosen to have our wedding in France because we want to savor this special occasion with our family and close friends in a unique, and unforgettable way. We'll be soaking up every moment in Normandy with exciting activities, such as adventuring to Omaha Beach, exploring ancient towns, and taking cheese making classes with the locals. We invite you to join us on our adventures, or use the wedding as an excuse to explore France, or all of Europe. We are inviting our wedding party to stay with us at the Chateau de Courtomer from August 20-25th. All of our other guests can take advantage of the curated local accommodations we've hand selected (see Travel). All guests are invited to our wedding festivities. However, we completely understand that you might not be able to make them all. We want all our guests to have a fun, stress-free weekend and encourage everyone to make the trip your own. We met the night of our first day of college at Vanderbilt University at our dorm's welcome night. I couldn't take my eyes off her, but Claire struggled to remember my name for a solid week. We ended up taking Economics 101 together during our first semester, and after a painful six months of awkward flirting, I took Claire on our first date to a concert downtown. Since then, we have been inseparable, and over the past six years, we've moved from Nashville to Boston to San Francisco together.

I told Claire we were driving to Carmel-By-The-Sea, California for the weekend together and that I had rented us a convertible to get there. She had her suspicions that something might happen that weekend, but I was still able to catch her by surprise. We went to the Baker Beach parking lot, where our convertible was supposed to be but it "wasn't there". I pretended to call the car rental app to ask where the car was and had Claire walk with me on the beach while I was on the phone. Part of the way down the beach, we ran into Claire's favorite Instagram dog, Humphrey (@spottedhumphrey), who had the ring around his collar.
