Downtown Toronto is located 40 minutes from our venue and has TONS to do! Hit a bunch of local breweries, take a ferry to Toronto Island for the beaches, go to Kensington Market for quirky shops, St Lawrence Market for delicious market eats, the Distillery District for shops and cute vibes. You can't go wrong with wandering around. Top tourist attractions: - Go to a Blue Jays game - Go all the way up the CN tower and do the Edge Walk - Visit Ripley's Aquarium - Take a ferry to Toronto Island Our favourite restaurants: - Gusto 101 - Rickshaw Bar - WVRST - Bar Wellington (brunch) - Amsterdam Brewing - Steam Whistle Brewery - Birreria Volo - Jack Astor's (lol it's not in Edmonton and the chicken fingers are Britt's favourite)
Niagara on the Lake is a picturesque winery region located about 20 minutes from Niagara Falls on the border of Canada/USA. It's about 1.5 hours from Toronto and is filled with beautiful wineries where you can book daily tours (or contact yourdd.ca for someone to drive you in your car). There's also tons of Airbnbs, cottages and lovely hotels and the weather is GREAT. Our favourite wineries: - Two Sisters - Reif Estate - Ravine - Wayne Gretzy Estates - Konzelmann Estate - Palatine Estates Breweries: - Oast - Silversmith Brewing
Ah, Muskoka! What cottage country in Ontario is all about. Rent a cottage on ANY lake and you'll love it. Try to head up as far as Algonquin Park. Our favourite towns to stay near: - Bracebridge - Gravenhurst - Bala - Parry Sound Another great cottage destination is the Kawartha Lakes near Peterborough.
A classic day trip from Toronto is Wasaga Beach. Go to beach 1 to lay your towels in the sand near the strip of shops (and crowds) or choose any of the other beaches for more privacy. Sauble Beach is about an hour further in distance, but a much nicer option! Sandy beaches, waves and fewer crowds. Another hidden gem of a beach community is in Bayfield - best beach I've been to in southern Ontario! (Britt)
