Flight
You have the option of flying into Portland, ME via the Portland International Jetport (PWM), or Boston, MA via Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). The Portland airport is convenient to downtown Portland, and the Chebeague Transportation Company Line from Cousins Island. If flying into Boston works better for you, it is just a little over 2 hours drive or train ride to Portland.
Train
This is a great option for traveling between Portland and Boston. The train is spacious, comfortable, and easy to navigate. The train leaves from Boston's North Station, 135 Causeway St, Boston, MA 02114. To book your tickets, you will select your choice of either a one-way or round-trip ticket leaving from Boston, MA - North Station (BON) and going to Portland, ME (POR). One thing to note, when getting on the train at North Station, the arrival and departure board will list the train's final destination on the route, in this case New Brunswick, ME.
Travel Note
There are limited on-island home rentals available through AirBNB, VRBO, and local listings. We will be reserving a block of rooms at the Aloft Hotel in downtown Portland. In addition to the hotel, Portland has great AirBNB and VRBO options walkable to downtown. We are happy to help with navigating this process as the date gets closer.
Hotel
The Aloft Portland, ME is located within walking distance to many restaurants, shops, and the Portland waterfront. We have rooms reserved under 'Dearborn - Leddy' and the link provided below will take you directly to our room block which lists our block rate.
Travel Note
We have coordinated transportation to the ceremony and reception via coach buses and the Chebeague Transportation Company (CTC) Ferry. Coach buses will be picking up at the Aloft Hotel at 3:00 PM and dropping off at the dock for the 4:00 PM ferry over to Chebeague Island. The ferry ride is 15 minutes and docks at the base of the Inn. We recommend purchasing your roundtrip ferry ticket in advance online or by calling the CTC at 207-846-3700. Tickets may be purchased as one-way ($12) or round-trip ($20), so consider your evening plans when buying. When purchased online, you will receive a confirmation email stating that you are to 'pick up your tickets at the ferry', however, when boarding you can simply have this confirmation email out and state the name of the person who placed your ticket order. There are also additional options for getting to the island on your own (driving to the ferry dock, water taxis to Chebeague, Casco Bay Ferry Line to Chebeague, etc.). Travel Note
Chebeague Transportation Company (CTC) ferry will depart Chebeague Island on regular intervals after the ceremony. Custom Coach buses will be waiting to take guests back to the Aloft Hotel. The last CTC ferry leaves the island at 10:30 PM. For those who would like to stay for the after party, a private 49 person ferry has been hired. The first trip will leave at 11:30 PM and drop guests off to catch the final bus back to the hotel. The second and final trip will leave at 12:00 AM. This ~45 minute ferry will take guests directly back to its dock at the Portland waterfront, where they can then easily walk or rideshare back to their respective lodgings.
