Deanna and Tom have a modern romance success story. They met on the dating app Tinder even though they lived just four blocks from each other on the same street in Baltimore. Tom thought he ruined his chances when he didn't go in for the kiss at the end of the first date, but Deanna could tell he was already smitten. Their second date was on Valentine's Day (no pressure) and they very quickly realized this was the real deal. They moved in together in Federal Hill in 2017 and shortly after adopted their first pet together, their cat Taco. They love traveling, trying new restaurants, hosting parties (like their annual Christmas sweater party) and having game nights with their friends.

For Christmas that year, Tom and Deanna wanted to get a real Christmas tree so Deanna started planning an outing with their friends Kerry and Eric (who are both in the wedding party). Little did she know, Tom was secretly planning a slightly different version of events with them. On an unseasonably warm day, they went to Jarretsville Nursery and Tom refused to take off his heavy peacoat even though they were walking all over the farm. After examining every tree and changing her mind many times, Deanna finally found the one. Tom asked Deanna about 20 times if she was sure this was "the one" and Kerry insisted on taking a photo of them with the tree once they made their decision. While Kerry and Eric were snapping away, Tom took a little box out of his coat pocket, got down on one knee and asked her to be his "one" for the rest of his life!
