Question

What the heck is steampunk?

Answer

Steampunk is a style of design and fashion that combines historical elements with anachronistic technological features inspired by science fiction. Think victorian meets industrial revolution meets art deco. Visit the "Steampunk" tab above for visual representation and outfit inspiration.

Question

I'm camping, is there anything I should know?

Answer

JHCF is an environmental, low impact campground. Please pack in and pack out, and leave campground as you found it. A central cooking area (between sites #1 and #2) with running water, sink, 2 outhouses, and campfire rings with cooking grates are in each site. Water is potable from the well, which is also filtered. There are no showers in the campground. Sites 5, 6 and 7 are smaller sites for car parking as they are more forested - so if you have more than 3 cars, you can still drive up to unload, but you can park your extra cars in the event overflow area just on the left hand side as you drive up the driveway. Site #4 is the best small RV or camper van site as it is the only site with water and electric hook up.

Question

I can't camp. Are there indoor accommodations?

Answer

The 1870s Victorian Farmhouse offers comfortable accommodations with 7 private bedrooms upstairs. Guests share the use of the main floor, including a large living area with piano and wood stove, formal dining room, fully-equipped modern kitchen, and 4 bathrooms with 2 showers. There are also 2 private cabins available. Cabin guests have access to the kitchen and the outdoor-accessible bathroom of the Farmhouse. The Orchard Cabin sleeps 4 and has a double bed in a sleeping loft and a double bed on the main floor. The sleeping loft is accessible by a ladder. The Eucalyptus Cabin sleeps 3 and has a double bed in a sleeping loft and a twin bed on the main floor. The sleeping loft is accessible by a ladder. Note: Dogs are not allowed in the Farmhouse or cabins and there is no smoking allowed. Please call DeAnna or Greg if you would like to take advantage of these accommodations.
