Attire for the wedding will be formal/cocktail attire. Tuxedos are not required but men should wear a suit and women should wear formal attire. *Note - there will also be a second line parade following the reception (more on that below), and while we will have a certain number of flip-flops available in varying sizes, we cannot guarantee a pair for all of our female guests, so please make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes (or bring an extra pair!)
The reception is less than half a mile from the ceremony. When you exit the church, take a right on Baronne Street and walk until you get to Conti. Take a right on Conti Street and keep walking until you see Latrobe's on your left at Conti and Royal. It is the yellow building directly across the street from the Louisiana Supreme Court. If you do not wish to walk, Ubers, Lyfts, and pedicabs are available as well.
We love your kids, but please leave any kids twelve years old and under who are not in the wedding party at home. We want our wedding to be your night off and can't wait to celebrate with you!
Heralded by the blare of an approaching trumpet or thump of a tuba, these colorful, vivacious parades are held on foot, led by a brass band, and completely take over one or more blocks at a time. It is one of the most common New Orleans wedding traditions and symbolizes the bride and groom embarking on their new life. The term “second line parade” refers to those who join in the rolling excitement. The people who are hosting the parade (such as the couple and the parade Grand Marshal) are a part of the “first line," while those who follow it along, dancing and often singing as they go while tossing handkerchiefs, form what is known as the “second line.”
New Orleans receptions are typically not seated dinners, but consist of heavy passed items at the start of the reception, open action stations and buffets, with emphasis on lots of food options, lots of beverages, and a highly dynamic and social atmosphere that allows guests to move freely about the reception space.
If you are not staying within walking distance of the Church and venue, we strongly recommend getting an Uber or Lyft. However, if you must take your own vehicle, there are parking garages located in the Central Business District near the Church where you can pay to park. The nearest parking garages to the Church are located on Common Street and Roosevelt Way. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DRIVE OR PARK IN THE FRENCH QUARTER. We promise you, you will regret it.
In New Orleans, masks and proof of vaccination are no longer required. However, we prefer that all of our guests do get vaccinated before celebrating with us. The public health situation is evolving, and we will keep this page updated as the wedding approaches. Please visit ready.nola.gov/incident/coronavirus/safe-reopening/ to review the latest coronavirus safety protocols and guidelines for the city of New Orleans. Thank you for your understanding as we do our best to prioritize everyone’s health.
