FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by May 10, 2020 to give us time to better prepare a fun-filled event!

Question

Will there be a ceremony?

Answer

We will be married in a small family-only ceremony on Saturday, March 28th. Saturday, July 4 will be our wedding reception and we are excited to celebrate with you all. Please come prepared to eat and drink!

Question

What time should I arrive at the reception?

Answer

The open bar starts at 6:30pm so get there on time and help us drink up! The photobooth will be available to guests at that time as well. Dinner will be served at 7:00pm sharp.

Question

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

Your presence is gift enough, but if you're feeling particularly generous, any contribution to our newlywed funds would be greatly appreciated.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Oh la la. In order to keep our guest list on track we are only able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation or listed on the RSVP page. Please feel free to contact us with any questions!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love ALL of your children, however we have decided to make this an adults-only celebration. We have made prior arrangements for children of family members. We hope you understand!

Question

Where can I park for the reception?

Answer

Metered spots around Forager are not enforced after 6 pm if you're lucky enough to snag one. There is a small surface lot on 1st Street right in front of Forager with variable parking rates depending on day and time. Parking at the Convention Center is another option just a block away from Forager. The surface lot (adjacent to the big blue tent) should be a flat rate of $7, and the covered parking structure at San Salvador and Market should be $3 per hour.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Dress code is semi-formal: tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses. Because I (the bride) dislike wearing heels, the wedding party will be wearing Converses for the reception. We encourage all attendees to dress in comfortable shoes as well so you can dance the night away!

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We have reserved a room block at the San Jose Marriott for a discounted rate of $139+fees per night. Please go to the "Travel" tab for the room block reservation link. The reception is in Downtown San Jose with many other options for accommodations within walking distance. We will be staying at the Fairmont just a couple of blocks away.

Question

Do you have a wedding hashtag?

Answer

Yes! Please use the hashtag #dougnise. We think it’s funny ("we" in this case means Doug...)

Question

Is the reception indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The reception will be held completely indoors.

For all the days along the way
