Ours is a tale as old as time. Boy practices hula hooping for months for no particularly good reason, and attends "spin jams" with other similarly-afflicted people in local parks. Girl watches one YouTube video on how to hula hoop, and instantly becomes an expert. Girl braves Seattle parking to meet up with fellow hoopers at Cal Anderson park. Boy sees adorable-but-shy girl who has never been to a spin jam before. Girl bats eyelashes at boy - eyelashes so long that Google Photos has since auto-categorized photos of her eyes as "terrifying insects". Boy instantly falls in love with her Will-Farrell-in-Elf-like innocent cheer, and gorgeous brown hair. Girl instantly falls in love, attracted to some combination of 1) a personality she interprets as serious and humorless, like a less-bubbly Professor Snape and/or 2) his facial hair, which subconsciously reminds her of the authority and gravitas of Our Founding Fathers. Both make mental notes that they should probably ditch the people that they are already dating.
