It's a tale as old as Tinder. Luckily, we both had our search radius set to max — 100 miles. One of us must have been swiping at work, because our hometowns of Lotus and Copperopolis are 104 miles apart.
Our first date was in the charming wine town of Sutter Creek (notice a theme?), which was exactly midway between us. Parking was a nightmare as we didn't plan on the Christmas festival, but once that was sorted out, the date lasted five hours. From that day on we were rarely apart, driving thousands of miles between us during our first few years. We've been together either in person or in spirit through multiple jobs, towns, new hobbies, long-distance travels and a global pandemic. In 2023, we finally got a place together in Midtown Sacramento.
Last year, we got engaged in NOLA's Audubon Park near a tree that was not the Tree of Life, but we found it later. Soon after, we welcomed our dear leader, Mizithra "Mizi" Brown, who so generously funded the catering for this event.
