Question

I saw your message at the top of the page about Covid-19, What has changed?

Answer

Covid-19 is something I think we are all too familiar with. As you all know Dawson and I eloped in December with our friends and family watching via the live stream. We opted for this for the safety of our loved ones. We want so desperately to be able to celebrate with you all but we also recognize the risks that are involved with gatherings at this time. Currently the vaccine is slowly being rolled out but we are aware that it could take a bit of time for everyone to receive theirs. We will keep you all updated on current state guidelines and how the day will look. We have decided to do two smaller weddings in order to keep numbers down (more information for this can be found at the bottom of this page). We will be requiring that all Covid-19 guidelines be followed whenever we know what those are (the event will be outdoors but masks still may be required). We are asking that any guests who wish to attend will respect our wishes regarding safety precautions.

Question

What are the current restrictions?

Answer

The current Covid-19 restrictions (effective May 29th 2021) are as follows: MA guidelines for outdoor gatherings at a private residence are restricted to no more than 200 people (our guest count is well below). We will be following the CDC guidelines for mask wearing. If you are fully vaccinated (you have received both shots and have completed the waiting period) you are not required to wear a mask, you may still wear one if you would feel more comfortable. If you have NOT been fully vaccinated (you have not received both shots or completed the waiting period) you are REQUIRED to wear a mask unless you are eating or drinking. We are trying our best to keep all of our loved ones and their families safe so we ask that you help us by following these guidelines.

Question

What if it rains?

Answer

If it is raining we will be holding the wedding and reception at my parents church (10 minutes from their house). The name of the church is St. Paul's Church of the Nazarene and the address is 136 Summer St, Duxbury, MA 02332

Question

Why was there an additional information card in our invitations saying that there would be appetizers and desserts?

Answer

We had originally printed the invitations asking you to join us for dinner and dancing following the ceremony but we have now decided to go a different route. In an effort to keep everyone safe and comfortable we have opted to do appetizers and desserts instead of a formal sit down dinner. This option allows everyone to keep their mask on (pending covid restrictions of course) and it also allows us to create more space within the tent. There will still be a dance floor (Massachusetts has given the green light for dance floors at weddings only). There will still be lots of food being passed around so we encourage you to still come hungry but also be aware that there is no formal dinner. We will also have lots of yard games throughout the yard for people to play!!! There will also be a table designated to board games! We look forward to celebrating with you all and hope that everyone can feel safe and of course have fun!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code is Cocktail Attire. Please be aware that the wedding ceremony and reception are outside and there will be (hopefully, dependent on covid-19 guidelines) a lot of dancing at the reception. Please wear what you are comfortable in! Take a peek at our Schedule page for a better description of Cocktail Attire.

Question

We already sent a gift when you eloped in December, are we expected to bring a second gift?

Answer

Absolutely not! We appreciate all of the gifts that have been sent so far and are so grateful for them. We do not expect gifts from anyone, if you would like to bring a gift you are more than welcome and can view our registry tab. We already have most things that we need and the registry has been updated accordingly. You will notice that we have marked our "Honeymoon Fund" as our most wanted gift, you can contribute what you wish. We hope to be able to go to Disneyworld for a real honeymoon as soon as it is safe to do so.

Question

We would love to celebrate with you but how will Covid-19 affect the celebration?

Answer

We would love to celebrate with all of our friends and family, however we have opted to host two weddings in order to keep numbers low and follow state guidelines. These guidelines seem to change ever other week so please keep checking back for the most updated information. The safety of our friends and family comes first so we will be very strict with Covid-19 safety procedures and we ask that you respect our decisions at this time. We will be hosting a reception in Minnesota at Dawson's parents house in Lake Elmo. This reception will be largely for Dawson's family and friends and the wedding in Massachusetts will be largely for Brittany's family and friends. Please reach out if you have any questions. We are truly trying our best to include everyone while also keeping everyone safe.
