Flight
Louisville has one main airport. The airport is actually about an eight minute drive from the Kreb's house (site of the pig roast, reception, and brunch.) As David and I fly back and forth from Orlando to Louisville quite frequently, we highly recommend Southwest Airlines. Following the link to FlyLouisville.com will give you a list of other airlines that also fly into SDF. All other airports are a minimum of and hour and a half drive.
Rental Car
Hotel Planner provided us with a discounted rate on car rentals. Following the link above will bring you to the page where you can get a discount on either Herts, Budget, or Avis rentals. We most frequently rent vehicles through Thrifty Rental Cars. If you sign up for their e-mail alerts, they usually offer a 15% off discount. We have also had good luck by checking Travelocity for the best deals and then going directly to the website for better offers.
Travel Note
If you are not interested in renting a car to explore Louisville, we would also suggest using the Lyft app to get around town. Because the hotels are located near the airport, a Lyft ride around town should not be too much. The link above is to Retail Me Not and has a coupon code for Lyft.
Hotel
This is a wonderful, inexpensive hotel half way between both venues and in a great area. We highly recommend staying here for the best value. We have secured a block of rooms for the event. Just give them our name and account number when you make your reservations. If the hotels we have chosen do not suit your fancy, here is the link provided by Hotel Planners. You can follow the link and choose the hotel you would like. We would recommend either a location in close proximity to the airport as most of the festivities will be taking place at the Kreb's residence. If you are looking for another location, we would suggest Downtown Louisville if you want to be in the middle of the action, or one of the hotels in Louisville East. Please stay away from areas south of the venue or west of downtown. If there are any doubts, please contact us!
